WANGANUI HOSPITAL BOARD.
Tin; usual monthly meeting of the Wanganui Hospital ami Charitable Aid Board was hold on Wednesday. There wore present: Mr Lethbridge (chairman). Mrs Comyns, Messrs Battle, Him-,' Brown, Ritchie. McGregor, Simpson. Fletcher. Sharpe, Aldridge. Bilking!on. Svenspn, and B'asset l .
At the commencement of the meeting, the chairman congratulated the old members upon their re-election, particularly Mrs Comyns, who had topped the poll. He also welcomed the newlyelected members, Messrs Sharpe and Aid ridge. It was decided to thank Dr. Boyd for his offer to continue in charge of the Taihape Hospital, until his successor was appointed. The chairman and the Taihape representatives were appointed to interview the Taihape medical men with regard to the appointment. Mr R. M. Findlayson, secretary of the Board, who has recently returned from the front, forwarded his resignation. This was accepted, Mr Findlayson being congratulated upon his safe return.
Inspector Swindells, who is iu charge of the Main Trunk portion of the Board’s district, stated that in his district during the past month, four eases of influenza had been reported. The cases, however, wore mild. He added that there appeared to be a large number of cases throughout the district which were undoubtedly of influenzal character, with catarrhal symptoms, head, and' throat troubles. They wVere, h owe very very mild, and did not require medical treatment.
