Germany is to receive food from the Allies, for a vital reason that is not fully understood in England (says the Daily Mail). That reason, is that the Allied Governments are now in possession of reliable information to the effect that conditions in Germany have reached a noint where fhev resemble

Unless means of relief be found, it is feared that Central Europe, perhaps within a few weeks, may be plunged into a welter of devastation and anarchy such as the world has never known. The Allies have decided to act because of the danger that the ensuing chaos might spread, beyond
the boundaries of Germany and Aus tria.
The Russian Kerensky Government fell because it could give the people neither peace nor food. The German Ebert-Scheidemann regime finds itself .to-day ia the same predicament. There are ample indications that the Russian process is taking place in Germany and making rapid strides towards the same fateful crisis. It is to frustrate such a calamity that the Allies are about to move-
