PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The usual monthly meeting of the above Society was held in the fvurse's Room, Town Hall, on Friday, May 2nd. Present: Mesdames Arrowsmifn (chair). Naflhan, do Lautour, Somerville, Shute," Mathews, Timbs. Mercer and the secretary
Nurse Mcßride reported that there are at present 114 babies on the books, Of this number seven are new nases. During the month the nurse visited 119 homes and received &X visits at the office. Several babies had been in with colds but at present all are well.
The sewing still continues grateful letters have been received from the Women's Suffrage Soc'.jty, and also from tho mothers who had received clothes.
The secretary report el that on Apr-] 29th, a meeting was ..ailed of Ornkuno residents interested ill ihis Society. Thi s meeting was attended by Mesdames Arrowsriuth, de>, Lautour, and Nurse Mcßride, from Taihape. and from Marton. Miss Cook, honorary secretary and Nurse Parlane. The Mayor (Mr. Goldfinch), presided, and after discussion it was decided to form a sub-branch at Ohakune, the nurse to visit once.a fortnight. It was resolved to defray working expenses ' and to contribute £2O annually to Society. A committee of those present was formed, Mrs. Peltham being elected president; Mrs. Pilkington, vicepresident, and Mrs. Dunn, secretary and treasurer
