The General Manager of the Union Company, replying to a protest by passengers booked by the Makura to Sydney, against delay in the completioi "of their voyage, expresses regret that it had been impossible to provide earlier transhipment owing to complications caused by influenza and watersiders refusal to work the vessel. Everything possible would be done to overcome the difficulty. A meeting of passengers this morning express the opinion that the explanation i s inadequate and it was resolved, unless something more satisfactory was forthcoming drastic action be take. It was further resolved to interview the Local Manager of the Compa7iy with regard to accommodajtion.
