THE IMPERIAL SCHEME

LONDON, May 3

The High Commission'crs and AgentsGeneral conferred with CM on el Amery (Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies) in reference to the Imperial service men and dependents to the Dominions. Colonel Amery notified that he expected to initiate the .scheme in September or October, when shipping •would be available. He was appointing representatives of the Dominions staffs to be emigration officers i n the United Kingdom. Canada had notified that sh'e was willing to accept immigrants, but insisted on defraying the passages herself. He understood New South Wales was standing out of the scheme, as she did not require immigrants, exdept domestics, until repatriation was completed. She was .willing to pay domestics' passage money.
