At the annual conference of the Painters' and Decorators' Employees'' Federation, held at Christchureh, the following resolutions were earned: (1) This conference strongly protests against the action of the Court of Arbitration in instituting a system of classification in .the painting trade, without hearing evidene* on the question and the objections from the representatives of the trade. (2) That the executive urge the of the Arbitration Court; that greater powers be extended to the Conciliation Coun--1 eils that jwill provide for all disputes having to reach a. final setrh-ment; that a commissioner with duly accredited assessors only shall sit in ConciliationCouncil. (3) That in all matters nncted with disputes before the Con ciliation Council and Arbitration Court, the executive shall have full control. ?r
