SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.
TAIHAPE. The annual meeting of householders was held last night, when the following commit tee was elected: Mcsdames De Latour, McCormick, Rendells, Messrs Swindells. Burrell, Shcnnan, Dennes. Rutherfurd, and Rev. W. H. Hocking. A meeting of the committee was held after the ejection, when Mr Swindells was appointed chairman and Mr D. Burrell secretary. OHUTTJ. Mr Belk presided over a small attendance of householders last night. The following committee was elected: Messrs Belk (chairman), Carey, Bartosh, Plinton, and Parrey. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Kennedy.' the retiring chairman, and Mr Harrcy. the hon. auditor.
PEACE CELEBRATIONS. TO BE HELD IN JULY. LONDON, April 28; Probably three days' holiday -will he devoted to thanksgiving services, an* a,'great procession in London of representatives of the Empire in war efforts. The., second day will be devoted to locpll |>rocession|i. _ Otihetf features, including bonfires and fireworks are being 1 arranged.
