WAR DECORATIONS.
NEW ZEALAND'S SPLENDID RECORD. WELLINGTON, April 25 A list of the war decorations won by New Zealanders during the last four and a half years shows that the Dominion made a creditable record for the bravery of its soldiers. The Military Medal is the chief decoration obtained by the rank and file, and the list shows that no fewer than 994 Now Zealanders obtained that reward for bravery. No doubt there are other names to be added, so that tbere will be no difficulty in topping the thousand mark. Twenty-five of the rank and file also obtained a bar to the Military Medal. The Military Cross, which is awarded to officers, is being worn by 266 New Zealanders, two of whom have obtained a bar to the Cross. There have been 167 awards of the Distinguished Conduct Medal to New Zealanders, with two awards of the bar in addition. Other decorations won by our men include 32 Meritorious Service Medals, and no fewer than 69 Croix de Guerre, awarded either by the French or Belgians to New Zealanders
