MASONIC GATHERING.

VISIT OF THE GRAND MASTER

The Freemasons of Auckland and \ suburban Lodges assembled on Wednes- wday Evening in great, strength at a meeting of Lodge Ara, No. 1, held at > the Princess Street Hall, for the pur- . poso of receiving the Grand Master of New Zealand, the Hon. A. L. (Mr Justice) Herdman. The Grand Master attended by a numerous retinue of Grand Lodge Officers, including Past Grand Master Oliver Nicholson. The Provincial Grand Master of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ireland, and the District Grand Master of the District Grand Lodge, English Constitution, and the Deputy District Grand Master of the Scottish Constitution, were also present, accompanied by their officers. Addresses were delivered by the respective heads of the craft in greeting to the Grand Master, who warmly acknowledged the welcome tendered to him. An enjoyable hour Avas afterward spent in the refreshment room.
