GRUESOME DISCOVERIES.

Laudau. arrested "for the murder of a number of women, is an educated man, possessing the diplomas of science and literature. He is we'll supplied with money, and besides his villa he had two houses near Paris, ;a: flat in Pafrig, and twp garages,, [which, ho used for fraudulent traffic. He has a wife and four children. He used a dozen aliases, and has served terms of imprisonment. The police discovered a dossier in one of the garages, in which were ten envelopes, each containing a. name, date, photograph, and lock of hair of his supposed victims. Three are known to be missing. The neighbours at various times noticed bonfires in the gardens of Landau's houses, where heaps of cinders, blood-stained cord, and mattress and other inculpatory evidences were discovered.
Laudau was a dealer in automobiles, ! and was arrested for the murder of a | number of women. He became engaged to the women in turn, and then | invited them to spend a few days at ; his villa on the borders of Rambrillet | Forest. They never re-appeared. He ! afterwards opened a shop in Paris, 'where he sold the furniture of his vic- | time, whom he selected for the property I they possessed. The pdlice suspect ! that eleven women were murdered by | him.
