REVOLT QUELLED BY FIRE HOSE.
A mutiny broke out in a reformatory near Bordeaux, where about 100 girls ar e under detention (says the Pa.ris correspondent £>f the "Daily Express").
A signal was given by the ringleader by means of a whistle, whereupon some of the girls broke down the doors and barriers and fled, while others barricaded themselves in the refectory.
A number of American troops, who were in the neighbourhood, were called to th e scene.
/TJhey t/hfl Whobl and turned a fire home On the mutineers through some of the windows.
The mutineers soon Surrendered in drenched and bedraggled groups, and the fugitives were recaptured.
