THE RETURNED SOLDIERS' VIEW.

On Wednesday evening, the night tfcefore the Poll, Captain \Y. H. Haw-, kins., SB. ex-M # P., will deliver an ora-» tion on "Prohibition and Efficiency; from a Military Man's Standpoint." ' Those who hear Captain Hawkins jat least, depend upon a most enjoyable speech, for the speaker is one 5f the most versatile and naturally gifted platform men in New Zealand. In England he drew immense audiences, and he has been one of the most successful lecturers on Prohibition from , the soldier's point of view, that has yet addressed meetings in New Zealand. He is a splendid man at questions and there ought to be plenty of fun if he is at all favoured with! irrelevant interrogations. Captain Hawkins will be particularly interesting as he will speak entirely from a soldierss' viewpoint of alcohol as a beverage and efficiency.
