On Wednesday evening, the night before the Poll, Captain W. H. Hawn kins, an ex-M P., will deliver an oration on “Prohibition and Efficiency from a Military Man’s Those who hear Captain Hawkins can,, at least, depend upon a most enjoyable speech, for the speaker is one of the most versatile and naturally gifted, platform men in New Zealand. In' England he drew immense audiences* and he has been one of the most suc-i cessful lecturers on Prohibition from' the soldier’s point of view, that has yet addressed meetings in New Zea-! land. He is a splendid man at questions and there ought to he plenty, of fun if ho is at all favoured with irrelevant interrogations.
