ELEPHANT'S FLESH AS FOOD

The American soldiers in Germany have found a new source of amusement in Hagenbeck's Circus at Coblenz. It is but a poor remnant of the circus or pre-war days. Of the 800 animals which gave so much delight, to children about 100 are left. The camels and llamas have all been killed; There are elephants, tigers, lions, and bears Hagenbeck tells how during the war the people remarked that it was better to eat elephants than to ses them and many were killed for food.
