BOLSHEVIK.

' THE RED ARMY OF MOSCOW “From ia battlefield prisoner we lave just taken a copy of the Octouoi 10 issue of the Red Army, a Boisue.ia Moscow daily paper,” writes Arthur E. Copping from Archangel. “It leans <->u a display lines of optimistic sensationalism, including the poor rising against the rich; Siberia ablaze with fiery rebellion; .arising against each other are two enemies, work and capital, poor and bourgeoise; in Germany tno revolution has started and soldiers viro ■going against their officers, wavering red flags and singing revolutionary songs. AMERICAN PEOPLE CHEATED. “In the first article it is said; ‘When ail Russia was under the despotism or the Romanoff family, we looked enviously to the Republican Powers, Wo dreamed of the freedom of France. Switzerland, and America as something we could never attain. Now v.-« know the weakness of all republics; we know the word “Democracy” is associated with the wore “Republic” only to cheat the people. In free America so-called, gross exploitation of work produces millionaires and steel kings.’ ! “An account of the meeting of tno Moscow Soviet on October 8 begins: ‘We are feverishly awaiting the eve of the Western European revolution.” “Then there is an exchange .of compliments between a 'distinguishccr visitor and the Commissioner Zcnovieff at Petrograd, who said the ec; cated masses in that city realised it was all rot about the Bolsheviks bring like wild animals. Thousands at a meeting he addressed passed a resolution to uphold the October revolution and grasp the outstretched hand of the proletariat. He had opened a peasants’ university at Petrograd which it was hoped thousands would join, but ho had got only 400. BOURGEOISE SET TO WORK. “Reverting to the question of the bourgeoise, he said Petrograd had wrestled with it more energetically than Moscow. He added: ‘You may have seen dozens laying wood blocks in the Smolui courtyards, also unloading coal barges, cleaning out barracks —at least doing more physical worn than ever before.’ Some, he added, had sent a numerously-signed address to the Soviet, expressing gratitude tha? they had been allowed to have the same ration cards as the working classes. Zenovicff said ho was taking sable shoes and other .warm clothing from the educated classes and giving them to the Red Army. “ ‘True,’ he said, ‘it will make the soldiers rather dazzling, but they will have to rise to the occasion.’ “Incidentaly he said: ‘The bourgeoiso under the Bolshevik Government have disappeared. If we continue as we are doing wo will teach all tbe Russian bourgeoise; after that the bourgeoise of all the world.’ GOVERNMENTS CRUMBLING “Then came a speech by Lovarish Bucharin, who was about to depart with fraternal greetings for Yienna_ He thought the governments all over the world were bursting and crumbling and said: ‘Wo have to be sure of our knowldege with the Western European proletariat in the Western European movement. They have no leader or system or determined policy? In this we must help them.’ “The article concludes with the cheerful tail linos: ‘No quarter for the army; death and damnation to visitors. ’ ”
