Messrs. Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Palmerstoii North report having an exceptionally good yarding of sheep and a small yarding of cattle at their Taihape Sale on Wednesday, the 26th instant. There was a good demand ?or wether lambs, and sound ewes, but inferior ewes were neglected. Quotations: —

Small lambs 7/ to 9/, medium lambs 11/5 to 12/0, good lambs to 14/11, small 2th ewes 16/ to 18/, medium 2th ewes 18/6 20/6 to 21/, mixed aged ewes low condition 8/6 to 12/2, fair 2th ewes 22/6, 4-syr. ewes 20/2 to 20/4, 2th wethers 26/, 4th wethers 28/6. SITUATION IN EGYPT.

CAUSING GREAT ANXIETY.

LONDON, March 26.

Lor/d Harmsworth, in the House of Commons, stated the situation in Egypt was causing the Government considerable anxiety. The Foreign Office had refused to receive Egyptian Nationalists in London, because their claims did not admit discussion. The situation demanded firmness, which the Government would enforce with all the powers at its disposal.
