VALEDICTORY.

A very enjoyable social and dance vvfa's held in the Three Stars last night, the occasion being a farewell dance to Miss Pearce, of the staff of Collinson and Gifford. Miss Pearce has been with the firm for about, two years, and will be missed by her many friends. The floor was in excellent order, and those responsible deserve every credit. The music, which was also good, was supplied by Mrs Webb, Miss Johnstone, Mr Upchurch and Mr Gwilliam. During the evening Mi - Dunbar, on behalf of the staff of Collinson and Gifford, presented Miss Pearce with a silvermounted scent bottle. Mr V. Harris suitably replied. The supper, which was provided by the Indies, was excellent. The committee specially wish to thank Mrs Treadwell f r the use of the ptano.
