INSULATED TONNAGE.
PROSPECTS FOR FUTURE. WELLINGTON, Monday.*.. The following circular has been forwarded by the Overseas Ship-owners' Committee to all freezing companies in New Zaland; — “Owing to delays in United Kingdom, insulated steamers are coming forward later than was expected, and it is considered advisable to acquaint freezing companies with the position, as it at present appears. After the j recent allotment ,tof February and early March steamers, the following 1 steamers represent the earliest measure of relief. They will be available for homeward loading as stated; — Port Melbourne, middle of March; Hororata, late March; Ajana, first half of April; Athenic, first half of April; Rimutaka, second half of Arp'il. No advice has yet boon received of the sailing of the following steamers, which have been listed for homeward loading from New Zealand:—Corinthic, Armagh, Euranga, Kaikoura, lonic, TainuL It is robable that the majority will not be available for homeward loading before the end of Aril, or during May, Deductions from insulate dspace will of course have to be made for the necessary quantity of dairy reduce required by the Imperial authorities. Efforts arc being made by this committee t,o secure additional tonnage for New .Zealand, but the rely to Food Controller, and could not be inthe tonnage had been made in conjunction with the Board of Trade, the Ministry of Shipping and the Food ontroller, and could not be increased.
