HOURS AND WAGES.
A ROYAL COMMISSION.

Mr Lloyd George at to-day’s conference with the executive of the Minor:- 3 Federation, stated th-.t the Government was prepared to appoint immediately a Royal Commission, with full powers to report on hours and wages not later than March 81 and on the question of nationalisation at ■ some iafer date.
Mr Smillie stated thit Fedoratlpn might be willing to defer decision <"n Nationalisation, but must press for an immediate reply io their demands for an increase of wages of 30 per cent, and a reduction of hours.
’RAILWAYS AND EXPORT
LONDON, March 21
Mr Smillie presided at a meeting of Labour’s Triple Alliance, which dis-. cussed the miners ’,' railwayman’s, and transporters’ national programmes. It was decided in view of the Government having convened a National Council, nothing should be done precipatcly which would bring trades unionism into disrepute.
THE LABOUR COMMISSION
PARIS, February 21
The Labour Commission agreed to two Government delegates from each State, as well as one representing the employers and one the workers, attend Labour Conferences, each haviug a vote.
