THE UNION COMPANY AND THE SEAMEN.

DUNEDIN, February 17.

As a result of the conference with the Seamen’s Union, the Union Company has agreed to improved acommodation for seamen on or about 17 additional vessels. The company also agreed to incorporate a clause in the seamen’s articles providing that Seamen invalided on shore in New Zealand through illness or accident contracted in the serviTe of the ship, be granted the benefits cf Section 6 of the Shipping aid Seamen’s Act.
