RIFLE ASSOCIATION MEETING.
Tho annual Rifle Association mccting for cadets and territorials will be held at Wanganui—for Senior Cadets on Friday, February 28th, and for Territorials on Saturday on Satday, March Ist. A good programme has been arauged, and the prize money is on a generous scale. The “Watson Belt and gold medals have been allotted for aggregates to the various events. Entries close on February 24th, and S.M. Forrest will be only too pleased to give any information to anyone requiring it. Free railway warrants will be issued to all bona fide competitors. Should a cadet wish to remain in Wanganui over Friday or Saturday a separate warrant would be necessary.
In regard to those cadets who will require accommodation at Wanganui palliases only will bo provided at the Drill Hall; each cadet must bring his own blanket.
So far as special prize money and trophies are concerned it has been decided that these, without exception will be competed for and allotted to those cadets and territorials hailing from the district in tyhich they were donated. Thus all money or trophies donated in Taihape will be competed exclusively by Taihape entrants. S.M. Forrest is at present canvassing for donations, and so far has been Very successful. Rifle shooting among our young men is a thing that should be encouraged, and anyone wishing to help this along by contributions in money or trophies should communicate with S.M. Forrest.
