SERIOUS ACCIDENTS.

Our Rangaowaca correspondent telephoned this afternoon that a somewhat serious accident happened out that way yesterday afternoon. It appears that Mr Jack Relardon, a returned soldier, was riding along the road, in company with others, when between Kakiapu and the Turakina his horse slipped, and rider and steed were thrown over the side, falling some •distance down the gully. The road hero is very rough and the country broken. Mr. mates wont to his assistance, and when they.. brought him on to the road he was found to be rather badly injured, his right collar bone being broken, and he was much. shaken. He was taken to a nearby house, and this moring as he was suffering considerable pain, it was deemed desirable to bring him into Taihape for medical attention.

B'y a. remarkable coincidence as we were taking the message off the ’phone, Mr. Reardon, sen., came into the office, and learnt for the first time of the accident to his son.
