REBIRTH OF ARMENIA.

An appeal was recently issued by General Torcom, head of the Armenian Mission, who is visiting 'Allied countries, to Armenians of all Allied and neutral countries. It referred to the proclamation at Erzeroum on January 31, 1918, of the independence of Armenia, which includes Greater Armenia, Little Armenia, and Ciliciaa Armenia, and the placing of theSo *r countries under the protection of Great Britain, the United States of America, Prance, and Italy. The appeal continues:— “Deserted by the Russians, betrayed by the Georgians, attacked on all sides by the Turco-Gcrman forces, the “Kurds the Tartars, and twenty olher races intent on our extermination, we have fought with a handful of gallant soldiers for the independence of our country. . . My mission is to gather round the flag, which has become tbc emblem of our suffering, of our faith, and of our burning thirst for liberty, an Armenian army of 100,00(Tmen. Wa must, with the help of our glorious Allies, take possession—-from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea—of all the Armenian countries where our martyrs are to, be counted by hundreds of thousands. After having so long been a horror-stricken witness of Armenia’s martyrdom, the hour has at last struck when the entire world will now look on with admiration at the rebirth of Armenia.”
