BOLSHEVIK BLOOD LUST BATTLE IN A PRISON YARD. LONDON, February 7. Petrograd reports state that the Grand Dukes Paul, Nicholas, Doitry, and George, were shot on the 21st of January, 1918, in the courtyard of the Deniabimy, prison, by order of a special commission together with 144 men and 28 women , who were accused of participating in alleged Anglo-French intrigues. The Grand Duke Nicholas was arrested in December and confined in a small cell with 14 others. Owing to starvation and ill-treatment Nicholas was too weak to walk, and was accordingly carried to the place of execution in a wheelbarrow, in which he was shot. Sailors and Chinese provided the firing party.

In view of the lateness of the receipt of the Bolsheviks’ willingness to go to Marmora, the date of the meeting at Princes Island will be fixed later on. So far the Bolsheviks have given no - guarantee to cease hostilities.
SPOTTED TYPHUS IN RUSSIA.
APPALLING MORTALITY
Received 8.45 a.m. STOCKHOLM, February 8. Spotted typhus raging at Petrograd, Moscow and other big towns in Russia. Twelve doctors and forty nurses died in one hospital alone. Sufficient coffins are unprocurable.

CPENHAGEN, February 9,
A well organised Bolshevik army is within 45 kilometres of the East Prussia frontier, preparing for a great western attack. Masses of German troops are concentrating in readiness. The Bolshevik Government has decreed that all residents of Russia, of whatever nationality, must serve in the Red Army.
RUSSIA NEGOTIATING WITH THE ALLIES.
The Russian Soviet Government accepted tho Entente offer to begin conversations with a view to the cessation of hostilities. It also agrees to pay Russia’s debts.
LENIN HAS RED ARMY IN CONTROL
NEW YORK, February 8,
In an interview an American traveller who recently returned from Russia said Lenin has whipped the Soviets into something like an ordinary congress. Lenin has the Red Army so disciplined that it will execute orders nobody dared give a year ago. The Bolshevik rulers 'are anxious to reach an understanding with the Allies but dare not say so without issuing definite statements and revolutionary proclamations for the consumption of tbo masses of Russia.
