FIRE IN BISCUIT FACTORY.

AUCKLAND, this day.

A fire on the premises dr Bycroft, LtcT., in the Shortland Street building, destroyed the front porition of the biscuit factory. At the rear the expensive plant and stock of biscuits escaped damage except by water soakage, which is fairly extensive. The stock of flour is believed to have been destroyed, and the grinding machinery recently installed at a cost of £4OOO. It is impossible to estimate the full damage yet, but it is stated Tt 'is reasonably covered by insurance in the New Zealand Insurance Office.

The Blackball trouble Has been practically settled. The men and owners held a conference and work was resumed to-day under normal conditions. The trouble was referred to the districts committee.
