NEW ZEALAND CHAVTAUQUA.

A meeting of those interested in the New Zealand Chavtauqua visit to Taihape was held in the supper room of the Town Hall on Monday evening, for the purpose of making final arrangements for the visit in March next, probably about the 15t'h. There were present: Messrs. Arrowsmith, Wrightson, Dashwood, Collinson. Clifford, Spence, Lawson, Howens, Bond. James, Swedlund, Duncan, Dyrnock and Dr. Sinclair.

Mr Arrowsmith occupied the chair, and explained the object of thJ? Chavtauqua visit to Taihape, which promises to be the greatest treat ever offered Taihape. The date arranged for the proposed visit will probably be from March 15th to 21st —A whole week in the Eecrcation Grounds. The business of the evening was principally to elect a committee to further the cause, and make arrangements for this sale of tickets, etc.

Messrs. A. Duncan and Swedlund were appointed joint secretaries, and the whole of the guarantors were appointed a committee.

As the Chavtauqua representative will be in Taihapo in a day or two nothing further could be done until his arrival, and the meeting adjourned A full meeting will be held later, and whole project, fully explained and e dvertised.
