IN THE KAISER'S PALACE.
ROYAL CELLARS BROACHED. LONDON, aJnuary 11. The Berlin correspondent of the Times gives a strange picture of sailors in the former Kaiser's palace, which has been frightfully damaged. Not a single pane of glass remains intact, while the heavy iron doors have been, smashed by gunfire, and the stone pilasters destroyed. Sailors were lounging among the ruins, drinking the choice. Royal vintages and smoking the former Kaiser's
special cigars, approvingly exclaiming, 'Wilhelm has good taste.' In a corner lay the dead bodies of those killed in the recent shooting, awaiting interment.
The former Kaiserin's appartments remain as she left them, magnificently furnished, with on unfinished letter on the dressingtablc to her son Friedrich. A tear-off calendar shows" the date November 10. The luxurious bathroom contains a silver bath set in marble- columns.
