MIGRATION FROM BRITAIN.
FLOW TOWAEDS AMERICA SOLDIERS SEEK INFORMATION LONDON, January 19 Mr. H. Easton. honorary secretary of the B'ritish Immigration League- of Australia, states that he addressed a large meeting of soldiers, and found them intensely ■ interested in Australia, but the absence of definite information regarding the cost of passages the possibilities of employment, and the terms of land settlement renders such propaganda of small values.
American agents are now visiting the camps and dangling tempting baits before the men, guaranteeing employment for 1,000,000 new workers at trades union rates. The inevitable result will be to divert the tide of emigration from the Dominons. Mr Easton says he is personally acquainted with two former officers with a • apital of £II,OOO, who, becoming disgusted with Australia's indefiniteness, decided to go to America.
