Every stone in this great buiidarticle of adornment will be the gift of a grateful people thankful for victory, for peace, and for the preservation of loved ones; or desirous, it may be, to perpetuate the memory of fallen friends. The new Cathedral will be erected as a Thankoffering to God, and as a Memorial of New Zealand’s part - in the great war. ' The names of all New Zealand soldiers who have fallen in the war will be inscribed in letters of gold on ther marble walls bf the Military Memorial Chapel (the west wing - of-, the Cathedral).
