COMING YEAR’S TRAINING.
ABOLITION OF CAMPS. The usual Territorial training camps will not be held this year, but a certain amount of special training wHI be given to make up for the loss occasioned by the absence of camps. Orders have been issued for the holding of a one-day parade for all units, at which musketry training will be given. Two syllabuses have been prepared by district headquarters, one for town areas where musketry training is carried out before attendance at camp, and the other for country areas where this training is not carried out before camp. Six distinct counses of instruction for officers and non-commissioned officers will be carried out at Trentham, between February 5. and May 23. Attendance will be voluntary. Each course will be divided info four separate classes —musketry, machine-guff, physical training, and infantry drill, the numbers who may attend from each district being limited. In addition to these courses, a “refresher” course will be hold for senior officers, and District Headquartes will select two field officers to attend. Courses of instruction to prepare candidates for the first appointment and promotion examinations will be held on the Takapuna racecourse" between February 10 and 15 complete programmes of training have been drawn up.
