The highest prices werU 365 gs. for one sheep bought by Mr Came Bid will, 350 gs. for one bought by Mr Field of Gisborne, 330gs.J for one bought by Mr Arthur Trockcr, 300 gs. for bnc bought by Mr Seddon, Waikato, 225g5. for one bought by Mr Eric Riddiford. Mr. Craig, of Auckland, bought one ram at 50gs, and Mr. A. Collie, of Auckland, at 90gs. The total amount realised at t?le sale w.as £IO,OOO.

While riding in the Maiden Plate at. Tauranga on Wednesday, the apprentice Hamilton, had his leg broken just above the ankle through being struck by a swinging stirrup iron of a horse that had fallen. The medical examination at Tauranga gave the opinion that the leg was only badly bruised, but a further examination at the Auckland Hospital yesterday morning,, disclosed a clean fracture, and the lad is now an inmath of that institution. i n the same race, H. Goldfinch had his arm badly bruised and he was severely shaken through Honeymoon, which he was riding, coming to grief.

Ward and Co. will sell at their Tui Street mart on Wednesday, without reserve, a quantity of sheets, blankets, etc., from the Taihape Temporary Hospital. The articles have been washed and thoroughly disinfected. (
