The Paris correspondent’ ''Of Ithc Daily Chronicle lattes that simultaneously with the arrival of representatives of the so-called united kingdom of Serbians, Croatians, and Slovenes, the so-called Government of Montenegro, representing King Nicholas and his friends, issued a manifesto to the newspapers denouncing King Nicholas’s dethronement and the union of Montenegro "with Serbia as illegal. They /declare the intention of invoking the aid of the Peace Conference to restore King Nicholas. On the other hand; five ex-Premiers and other notables at Ccttinjc. issued a declaration in favour of the union. United States would not recognise Italy’s claim beyond Trent and Trieste The correspondent declares, that the Montenegrins have ' never forgiven Nicholas for his capitulation' to Austria, They have pursued a straight line ever culminating in jthe National Assembly, which proclaimed the union with Serbia on December 21st. King Nicholas has been the guest of Hho French Government, Hence the French censorship has hitherto suppressed comments on his position.
