Peace Conference.
OVERSEAS . REPRESENTATIVES Received 11 <a.m. LONDON, January 2. The Evening News announces that Messrs. L. Botha, Borden, and Hughes will represent the Overseas Dominions at the- Peace Conference. LABOUR’S EXPECTATIONS Received noon. LONDON, Jaii. 3. Mr. Barnes states the Government hopes an international industrial eommision will be established by the Peace Conference, which will ratify freedom of combination, minimum standard wages, hours, holidays, regulate conditions of employment of women, and improve factory conditions. LEAGUE OF NATIONS. FRENCH AND AMERICAN VIEWS COMPARED. LONDON, January 2. The Times compares the speeches of President Wilson and M. Clcmenceau, and argues that there are no fundamental discrepancies. France feels and sees what German invasion moans and demands adequate security against the danger of a recurrence of. that which she so narrowly escaped and the suffering which she yet endures. President Wilson is equally determined to deliver Prance from these evils. There is no difference between Prsident Wilson’s ideals and the most prosaic and immediate object which M_ Clemenceau sots before Prance.
