BOWLING NOTES.

To-morrow and Thursday an innova tion will be introduced in connection with howling in Taihape in the shape of a progressive pairs tournament, conducted under Barnett’s system. This system is entirely new to the local club, but has been tried with great success in other centres. Play will commence at 9 ofclock each day, and punctual attendance of competitors is requested.- Messrs Pookes and Thurs\ ton will, act as umpires. As the club anticipates numerous challenges for the Hum Cup the Com mittee have deemed it desirable to select several trial teams in order to arrive at the strongest one possible to defend the trophy.
