PEACE CONFERENCE.
(..REPRESENTATION QUESTION | SETTLED.
I LONDON, December 26. 1 The Manchester Guardian understands that the Imperial War Conference settled.the question of representation at the Peace Conference, and also formulated the official British i view ©n indemnities, German colonies, ' and League of Nations. It is believed that the four great Powers will probably have five seats each, but not necessarily always occupied by the same delegates. Smaller nations will have pro rata representation. The Dominion representatives will not be members of the grand committe-j ■■'. the inter-Allied Conference, but will present the case as small nations before the Conference. Labour will not be asked to nominate representatives, but probably Mr Clynes or Mr Thomas will bo invited-to go to Paris to sit on one or more committees. The Australian Press learns authoritatively that the Manchester Guardian's forecast is purely speculative.
