Also started: Prince Charleroi, Canowindra, and Bitholia. Won by two lengths. Ponsonby Hurdles Ditto, Loyal Arch 2, Pendoon 3. Also ran: Hexton, Penniless, and Notability. Won comfortably by two lengths. Summer Cup. —Mascot 1, Killjoy 2, Rose Pink 3, Also started: Kilrush, Cleft, Heathercotc, Mangamahoe, Housewife, Killard, Tigritiya, Cyresian. Won by half a length. Criterion Handicap Maaduff 1, Bindle 2, Hetana 3. Also ran: Mistian, Parorangi, Rebuff, Lady Una, Golden Crozicr, Mistress Biddy, Arati Won easily by five lengths. Waitemata Handicap Slipstitch 1, Pierrot 2, Lady Energy 3. Also ran: Melee, Thrace, Sanacre, Marble Star, Glucian, Master Eegal, Multiplane, Empire, Arihia, Windorah, Ma Copper, Master Iney. Salisbury Welter Waiuta 1, Downham 2, Bingham 3. Also started: Form Up, Colonel Soult, Lord Kenilworth, Miltchikoff, Fabrique, Robur, Alf Delaval, Jjady Glen, and Demoiselle. Won by a length and a half.
Speculation on the totalisator for the two days amounted to £143,825, a decrease of £17,153 as compared with last year. ASH HURST RACES. ASHHURST, this day. The weather is fine, though dull, for the Ashhurst meeting. There is a good attendance. The going is holding. Hurdles. —Whiro Davis 1, First Line 2, Kurapai 3. Also ran: Warmth and Rising Tide.
