Colonel Maudsley has been investigating on behalf of the Australian Commonwealth, a farm and hospital where remarkable cures of nervous cases have been effected through the simplest psychotherapy. Men who had not spoken for month's recovered their speech after a single interview in which the doctor imposed his superior will-power. Limbs have been straightened and muscular capacity regained. Hypnosis is not used. After the cure the men stay on the farm for varying periods, and are then discharged. Colonel Maudsley was most impressed, and recommends similar instruction to "deal with such cases, of which at least a thousand have been sent to Ausralia. PRISONERS' WALRUS AND SHARK. LONDON, N,ov 26. Our prisoners 'are .returning in a steady stream of thousands daily through Denmark, Holland, and Bejg gium. Yesterday's arrivals included 1 126 Australians, who were greeted by an Australian band at the station, and marched through cheering crowds to headquarters. .7 Some of the prisoners came through* Holland and others through our lines. The contrast is strikingly apparent, the latter class betraying in their emaciated condition and hollow faces the terrible nature of their experiences. One said, '"Vhey gave us walrus and , blue shark to eat. We had to skirl ,it, and it smelt horribly. A bucket I and a-half of horsebeans provided si dinner for 150 men."
