BLAZE IN CHRSSTCHURCH. FARMERS' CO-OP. GUTTED. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 2. A serious fire occurred early this morning in the premises of the New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association, a three-storey block. The top floors, used as boot, tailoring, and furnishing departments, were completely destroyed, while the ground floor, containing grain, was swamped with water, the merchandise rendered practically valueless. The saddlery department was also damaged by water. The insurances on the whole of the Association's property total £15,000, and in the gutted area £13,490 in the South British, but re-insured in twenty pther offices.
A SECOND DIVISION RESOLUTION
REPATRIATION OF SOLDIERS. WELLINGTON, this day. The National Executive Second Division League passed a resolution that the League views with alarm the continued dilatoriness of the Government in regard to the question of repatriation, particularly in view of the fact that thousands of soldiers are now being discharged, and that lofficial statements point to the early return of men from overseas, and urges upon the Government and Parliament that no further delay will be tolerated. NEW ZEALAND WOOL CLIP. REQUISTIONED BY IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT. WELLINGTON, December 2 A Gazette Extraordinary proclaims that all wool clipped in New Zealand not later than one year after June 30th 1919, is requisitioned on behalf of His Majesty the King. «\
