SERIOUS DEVELOPMENT AT THAMES.
j THAALES, Nivcmber 30. ! A serious development of the epidemic here is that it is now attackingchildren, who were previously practically immune. Ten serious cases of children between 11 months and seven years were admitted to the hospital toi day. v I * I . j AT DANNEVIRKE. DANNEVIRKE, this day. Five Adults, including a Maori and two juveniles, died since Saturday from influenza . Cases are still being reported and’ admitted to hospital. AT TAIHAPE. The improvement in 1 Taihape, though somewhat tardy, Is being maintained. The cases now being admitted to the hospitals are much milder in type. Owing to various circumstances the Mayor has had to re-arrange the operations of his Relief Committee. This has now been completed, and the maximum of efficiency obtained. There is still need "for assistance from owners of motor cars. The deaths since our last issue number three, which include a girl named Twecdale, From Hihitahi; a man named Grown; and Mrs. Begg, wife of Mr. A. Begg, of Taihape. j Mrs. Begg had been stricken for some little time, but latterly had been ! improving somewhat, but on Sunday ! she gradually sank, passing away at j 3.30 this morning. The deceased lady was 22 years of age, and was a | daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Lincoln, of j Taumarunui. She leaves a husband j and one child to mourn her loss.
