I WELINGTON, this day | Replying to the telegram of the Auckland Citizens' Committee. Hon. W. Russell, says: I will not allow the Mayor or Committee to act as they choose. If they contravene the law in order to protect Auckland from measles certain steps will be taken, in which the Government will not be influnced by the agitation set on foot . by the Mayor. Measles is declared an infectious disease, and arrangements have been made to deal with those afflicted, and if necessary Quarantine the rtcci.-.:■■:■ tt Motuihi.
