THE KING IN FRANCE.
LONDON, Nov 28. The King and Princes crossed the Channel in the warship Broke. They lunched at Boulogne and then proceeded to General Headquarters in the evening. TRIBUTE TO FRENCH NATION. Received Noon. LONDON, Nov 29. The Press Bureau states the King, speaking at the Elysee banquet, said: I have the greatest pleasure to Be a guest, amidst the great nation wherewith the Br'itish have mingteTf Ineir sorrows and joys for four years, but are now triumphantly crowned with overwhelming victory over their "common enemy. Thanks to the bravery of the splendid French Army and Foch's skilful strategy the repeated desperate German efforts to reach Paris were defeated and the enemy hurled across the frontier and compelled to sue for peace. I congratulate *he noble French nation on the grea* victory; British armies are proud to have participated with the AngloFrench peoples during the life and death conflict. They have created a union of hearts and identity of interests which I trust wili ever grow closer, and contribute materially to the consolidation of peace and the advancement of civilisation.
