CLEANSING .OF PREMISES. ..; HOUSEHOLDERS are requested to take steps that all Tins, Rubbish, Manure, and Waste-matter be immediately removed from their premises, and that all yards, fowlhouses and runs, stables and drains be thoroughly cleansed and sprayed with Disinfectant so as to prevent a recurrence of the Epidemic. , \i F. DISINFECTION OF DWELLINGS.
Householders are requested to take immediate steps to thoroughly cleanse their whether they have had the Influenza or not, so as to assist in combating the Epidemic. This may be done as follows: Seal up all openings in the room or rooms so as to prevent any escape of the fumes, a blanket or rug being tacked over open fireplaces; open all drawers or cupboards; place a quantity .of sulphur, loosely wrapped in paper, in an old iron vessel or pot;| stand the vessel on an iron tray or in : an iron bath tub to prevent the possibility of fire; pour a small quantity of methylated spirit over the sulphur and set alight with a match; close up the rooms for eight hours. (Amount of sn?phur required being lib. for a roomi 10 feet x 10 feet). In all cases after fumigation has taken place the room should have a thorough cleansing, using soap and water and scrubbing brush, well and thoroughly applied, afterwards going; over the furniture and -woodwork, not forgetting the ledges, with Disinfectant, such as Kerol, Restar, JeyesJ Fluid, or sheep dip.
