AMSTERDAM, Nov 23
The Bolshevik Government states that Russia has declared the BrestLitovsk treaty null and void, and , requested the German Government to conclude new peace proposals for all countries in Eastern and Central Europe on the basis of Bolshevik principles. The Germans have rejected the proposal, and stated the Brest Litovsk treaty must be dealt with at the general peace conference. The German Government has declined the Russian proposal to send grain to Germany. The Bolsheviks have been guilty of terrible excesses in Petrograd during the last few days, and five hundred ex-officers have been murdered. Arrested foreigners arc being employed as street cleaners. Fourteen members of the Petro- ; grad Soviet hourly fear a counterrevolution. The cruiser Aurora is at the mouth of the Neva, with steam up, ready to go to Copenhagen at the shortest notice. If the fourteen are denied a landing, the voyage will be continued to Brazil
NEW MOVEMENT IN UKRAINE. I Received Noon. LONDON, Nov 24. An All-Russian Government has been formed at Ekatcrinodar, composed of a. member of the General Staff of the old volunteer array, with Sudonoff as Minister of Foreign Affairs, with a view to re-establishing a united Russia on federative principies, and keeping the Bolsheviks out of the Ukraine. The strength and prospects of the new Government arc unknown. TRIBUTE TO NURSES. U LONDON, N0v.22. In order to recognise the nurses’ devotion to troops and civilians in war time, the overseas committee of the nation’s fund for nurses is organising a special Empire-wide fund, called the “Tribute Fund.” Influential committees have been formed in Britain, and it is hoped that branches will be formed in the Dominions. DALGETY AND CO. LTD. The New Zealand Superintendent for Dalgety and Company has received cable advice that the Directors will recommend at the annual general meeting of the shareholders on 27th November a dividend of 4 per cent, making with interim dividend 8 per cent for the twelve months, also a bonus of 5s per share, making, with interm bonus, 6s per share for 12 months. It is further > proposed to write off £50,000 to reserve fund £25,000 off premises, £IO,OOO to staff Benevolent Fund, carrying forward £113,770. Dividend and bonus payable ! 28th November.
