A HUN OF HUNS.
A Hun incarnate, named Wilhelm Hoffmann, was in the dock in Berlin, last Sffonth charged with, theft. He is a professional criminal who glories in wrong-doing, and declaimed in Courts that he was proud of having been sent™ to penal servitude on 17 different - occasions, He knew neither remorse nor pangs of conscience. He went gaily from prison to a new crime, he said, conscious that sooner or later he would j again be behind the bars, “I do this on principle,' ’ said the proto-type of the race which sacked Belgium and looted Northern France. “I do it deliberately and in full possession of all my faculties, because I have declared war on society." The Court refused to be impressed by this fine epitome of Hun morality, and sent Herr Hoffmann to a medical board for examination as to his sanity.
