GERMAN DISCIPLINE.

An amusing instance of discipline, or kultur in the German army, occurred shortly after a batch of prisoners had been brought in. A Feldwebel, the German sergt.-major, though, fit to administer a thrashing to one of his privates, and so effectually that the soldier was knocked down. The Feldwebel immediately called him to attention, and when he had,complied as readily as his condition permitted the German non-com. gave him a straight left, felling him again.
