PEACE DAY.
The nature cf the celebrations for Peace Day were briefly touched upon in. the House of Representatives on Wednesday. Mr J. Vigor Brown (NaPwr) suggested to the Prime Minister hat when peace is finally declared he people should have adequate notice so that three days' holiday mighi be arranged. There should be some definite Programme. To impress 0 n the rising generation the grea t signiflcance of Peace Day every Saturday should be observed as a full holiday for three months after the declaration of peace. Mr Massey replied that there was no probability of peace being arranged for some time to come yet Reasonable notice would be given so that proper arrangements might be made for a really great holiday. He hoped that Peace Day would be celebrated annually for many years to come as one of the greatest national events, so that young people-might realise 'its great importance.
