ENGINEER’S REPORT FOR MONTH
Wangaehu Riding.—Severe slips 'occurred again, esepcially on Whareroa Road, These are being removed as expeditiously as possible. Otairi Riding.—-Gravelling' repairs to Ongo Road have been completed, and team left with Grader. Flood damage on various roads is being repaired where labour is available. The main roads are all open for traffic. Te Kapua Riding,—The whole of the roadmen’s time is being devoted to repairing special damage, but many roads are still blocked. Owing to the severe weather the proper organisation of this c Riding has not yet been put in hand. Many of the roads are in a deplorable state, and I hope shortly to be able to make a careful inspection, and get it in order as expeditiously as limited labour will permit. Awarua Riding—This Riding is also in a deplorable state ,especially to the east of the Rangitikei River. Very little labour is available, but I hope to get matters in order as the weather improves. Erewhon Riding.—Numerous slips have also taken place on Erewhon roads, and are being attended to where possible. Gravel repairs to Moawhango Road are in hand. As the grader could not commence work owing to slips, I have put the teams 'on gravelling.
