KING’S THEATRE. A double-star attraction will be shown at the King's to-night, headed by the photo-drama “Real Folks.” Out of fourteen thousand entries for the Triangle prize competition this particular drama was the winner. This is not surprising because it is one of the most convincing pieces of life transferred to the screen for many a day. J. Barney Sherry as Pat Dugan is the central figure but Alberta Lee as his wife and Francis MacDonald as his son Jimmy run him very close. The story is a masterpiece of simplicity. Dugan the farmer suddenly becomes a millionaire by the discovery of oil On his property. He wants to live up to the part and has very poor ideas of how to do it. Mrs. Dugan is content to be her unpretentious but loveable old self. The son also has little patience with his father’s ambitions and prefers to bo a man rather than what in the father’s eyes constitutes .a gentleman. It is the interplay of these characters that makes a fascinating and absorbing picture, and this screen is proof that the simplest properly handled can be made more gripping, more delightful, and more human than the most ingenious plot over devised. Supporting the above is a five part drama “The Summer Girl,” featuring Molly King. , This superb programme should not be missed. There will also be shown another exciting episode of the “Mystery Double Cross.”
