TAIHAPE ATHLETIC CLUB.

The general meeting of the Taihape Athletic Club was held last night; Present: Mr. Dymoek (chair), Neagle, Marlow, Currie, Wakeman, Dowling, Munro, Bray, Jorgenson, Clark, and Ryan. Apologies .were received from Messrs. Hintz, Arrowsmith, McLennan Wrightson and Champion. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Patron R. W. Smith, M.P.; president, C. L. Dymoek; vice-presidents, Messrs. P. C. Wakeman, Sexton, Studholme, Joblin, McLennan. Arrowsmith, Lawson, W. Mcßae, T. V. Morrin; treasurer, D. Neagle; hon. secretary, W * P. Dowling; auditor, A. M. Evan. Mr Neagle, treasurer, announced that the club had a credit balance in the Post Office Savings Bank of £IOO, with .accrued interest, and. IS/9 credit balance in the Bank of Australasia. , The following donations were offered to the club .and accepted with thanks:—Wakeman Bros., £lO (for chopping match); W. N. Jorgensen £lO (for high jumping competition, pace to bo no object); Mr Joblin, £2 2s to be awarded by the committee in any way it. thinks fit.'

The following general committee was appointed: Messrs. Munro, Wrightson, Bray. Jorgenson, Currie, Dunbar, Marlow, Champion, E. McLaughlan, and S. Reid.

It . was decided that members' tickets (5/) be printed, which will include? admission to the sports for member- and family. The town is to be canvassed for members. After some discussion it was decided that all competitors pay for admission to the ground. The'following programme committee was set up: Messrs. Marlow, McLennan, Wrightson and Ryan. It was decided to rcommend to the committee that in the event of chopping events being included in the programme, that the club renew its affliation with the New .Zealand Axemen's Association. This being all the business, a vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
