SUDDEN DEATH AT SEA. WELLINGTON, this day. William Flynn, a trimmer of the collier Kamo, died suddenly yesterday afternoon during the voyage jfrom Westport to Wellington. Flynn was a native of Scotland, aged fifty-seven.. It is not known if he has relatives in New Zealand. He was talking with another man, 'with whom he was about to go on duty, when he collapsed and expired on the deck. THE SHIPPING POSITION.
NO SERIOUS INCONVENIENCE. WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. Massey told a reporter yesterday there would be no serious inconvenience through the scarcity of shipping during the next two months if the Imperial authorities are able to give effect to the present arrangement, but the position after the New Year would depend on the course of the whr. Mr. Massey also said the Imperial Government’s arrangements for the purchase of this season’s butter and cheese would be completed in about a week’s time. The purchase would not affect the local retail butter price. The maximum here is. already fixed at 1/8* per pound.
